On June 8th, the fourth Citizen Sports Games Skipping Festival and Shanghai Bund Forest Park Vitality Carnival, eagerly awaited by Shanghai citizens, grandly opened at the Shanghai Bund Forest Park, where the Huangpu River, Yangtze River, and East China Sea converge. This event not only provides citizens with an excellent platform to showcase their skipping skills and enjoy the fun of sports, but also serves as a vivid practice for Shanghai to promote the deep integration of national fitness and national health.
New appearance, helping citizens enjoy quality life
As a flagship event for the vigorous development of mass sports in Shanghai, the Citizen Sports Games, held every four years, aims to promote "participation, exercise, health, and joy for all" and provide a platform for citizens to showcase their talents and promote health. The Shanghai Citizen Jump Rope Festival, successfully held for three sessions, has been upgraded as an important brand event of the Citizen Sports Games this year. The Jump Rope Festival will run from June to November, featuring a series of events, performances, educational activities, grading exams, seminars, etc. With its rich variety of activities and extended duration, it offers citizens more opportunities to participate, allowing everyone to fully experience the fun and benefits of jump rope sports. This aligns with Shanghai's efforts towards the "Five Everyone" city direction of "everyone enjoying a quality life," marking a new height in the popularization and development of jump rope sports in Shanghai.
At the event site, colorful bougainvilleas bloom in competition, complementing the vibrant fun activities, adding a touch of bright color to Shanghai in early summer. At the beginning of the opening ceremony, a promotion team composed of children, teenagers, and middle-aged and elderly people presented a spectacular skipping rope performance, bringing a visual feast to the audience. Through carefully choreographed skipping rope performances, they showcased the diversity and fun of skipping rope sports, winning rounds of applause from the audience.
Following that, Mr. Xu Teng, the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Jump Rope Association, read out the initiative of the Shanghai Citizen Jump Rope Festival "Everyone Can Jump Rope", calling on the general public to actively participate in jump rope sports, exercise the body through jump rope, enhance physical fitness, and cultivate a healthy lifestyle.
The unveiling ceremony of the Shanghai Jump Rope Science Popularization Base was successfully held afterwards. The base will serve as a science popularization, training, and exchange center for jump rope sports in Shanghai, providing comprehensive jump rope services to the public.
Scenic spots are popular, innovative content meets diverse needs.
In order to further meet the high-quality and diverse sports and health needs of the general public, compared to the previous three sessions, this year's Citizen Jump Rope Festival is more innovative in overall design, with higher activity standards, wider coverage of the population, and more flexible project settings. Using "rope" as a medium, but not limited to "rope". For example, in addition to the exciting opening ceremony, the event site will simultaneously host the competitive and entertaining Chinese urban youth jump rope open competition (Pudong Station) and the highly participatory and fun-filled vitality carnival activities in the park.
Individual and team competitions, speed and freestyle jump rope competitions, 12 interesting check-in experience activities, rich professional sports knowledge and natural science popularization, perfectly integrate sports and fitness with interactive fun. It not only satisfies the exercise and participation of individual sports skills, but also stimulates interest in sports in the form of games, promotes parent-child interaction, and enhances family harmony. The event attracted more than 1,500 people to participate on-site, truly achieving nationwide participation, nationwide fitness, and nationwide sports. The traffic on the Dragon Boat Festival reached nearly 9,000 people, a 6.7% increase compared to last year. This move is a positive response to the notice issued in March this year by the General Office of the State Sports Administration, the General Office of the Ministry of Commerce, and the General Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on the launch of the "Sports Events in Scenic Areas, Streets, and Business Districts" activity, leveraging the comprehensive benefits of sports events to further promote the deep integration of sports with culture and tourism development, fully tapping the overflow value of sports events.
This event is organized by the Organizing Committee of the Fourth Shanghai Citizen Games, Shanghai Social Sports Management Center (Shanghai Sports Competition Management Center), Shanghai Binjiang Forest Park, Shanghai University of Sport, Shanghai Skipping Association, and Shanghai Yuedong Culture and Technology Co., Ltd., with strong support from Nongfu Spring.
Shanghai Sports University Party Committee Deputy Secretary and President of Shanghai Jump Rope Association Pan Qin, Director of Shanghai Social Sports (Competition) Management Center Zheng Haobin, Secretary and Director of Pudong New Area Sports Management Guidance Center Song Guangming, Party Secretary of the School of Physical Education, Shanghai Sports University Wang Hongying, Party Secretary and Director of Shanghai Binjiang Forest Park Bi Qingsi, and Secretary-General of Shanghai Jump Rope Association Xu Teng attended the event.
