In March in Beijing, the sun is shining brightly, and the spring is in the air. In this vibrant season, the first stop of the 2024 China City Youth Jump Rope Open Championship was successfully held at Decathlon (Beijing) Yizhuang Store on Sunday, March 31st. Leaders and guests from the National Youth Sports Federation, Beijing Shuttlecock Skipping Sports Association, Decathlon (Beijing) Sports Goods Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Leap Culture and Technology Co., Ltd. attended the opening ceremony.
To fully implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, implement the key tasks of the Government Work Report, focus on expanding domestic demand, actively cultivate new consumption growth points such as entertainment tourism, sports events, and domestic products, and combine with the "Consumer Promotion Year" activities to create a number of well-known and influential event brands, leverage the comprehensive benefits of sports events, further promote the deep integration of sports with business, culture, and tourism, fully unleash consumption potential, the General Administration of Sport, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism have decided to carry out the relevant requirements of the "Sports Events in Scenic Areas, Streets, and Business Districts" activities. In 2024, the Chinese City Youth Jump Rope Open officially set sail, the first stop of the competition led the children to go outdoors, enter the business district, combined with the advantages of Decathlon outdoor sports space, held to create a jump rope exchange platform that is accessible and reachable for young people, allowing young people of all ages to participate in jump rope competitions, and gain health and happiness in the competition.
This event adheres to the concept of putting health first, so that more young children can participate in and love skipping rope, and achieve the goal of "everyone can skip rope, everyone is in good shape, and compete together". The Beijing station has set up 6 age groups and 12 categories, including speed races, freestyle races, parent-child races, master races, challenge races, and a total of 10 events, with a total of 25 teams and 276 athletes participating.
At the opening ceremony, the performance team from the Dynamic Youth Sports Club brought a wonderful "Everyone Can Jump Rope" show. The youngest team member is only 5 years old, and the team demonstrated superb skills and seamless coordination. Their impressive performance not only amazed the audience on the spot but also left a deep impression on the participating players.
During the competition, each contestant fully displayed their heroic and elegant demeanor, sometimes resembling light and agile cotton seeds, sometimes like agile hunting falcons, weaving dazzling fancy movements in the air, showcasing not only the level and potential of the contestants, but also the vitality and vigor of youth sports.
Jump rope as a competitive, fun, and entertaining sport is gradually becoming one of the favorite sports for teenagers. The China Urban Youth Jump Rope Open in Beijing has successfully concluded, but the enthusiasm and dreams of teenagers remain undiminished. As a key event created by the National Youth Sports Federation, the China Urban Youth Jump Rope Open will continue to promote the prosperous development of youth sports in China, showcasing the athletic potential of more children, exploring the passion for sports, and contributing to the construction of a healthy China.
The next regional competitions across the country will be carried out in full swing, inspiring young people to dare to strive, dare to break through, and experience the unique charm of rope skipping. Our next stop will be in Shanghai on April 27th!
