China Youth Sports Federation (CYSF), initiated by the General Administration of Sport of China in 2006 and registered and approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, is a professional, non-profit, 4A-level national youth sports organization serving the development of the youth sports industry.
Since the reform of the physical entities in 2017, the National Youth Sports Federation has earnestly studied and implemented Xi Jinping's socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era, comprehensively strengthened the leadership of the Party, implemented relevant policies of the state social organizations, focused on the work tasks of promoting the healthy growth of young people and cultivating reserve talents in sports, based on reality, and gradually developed and expanded. In 2019, it was designated as a demonstration association for decoupling reform by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, included in the "Cases of Decoupling Reform of Industry Associations and Chambers of Commerce from Government Agencies" and publicized; in 2020, it was awarded the title of "Outstanding Contributor to National Sports Undertakings" by the General Administration of Sport of China; in November 2023, with the approval of the General Administration of Sport, the Communist Youth League Central Committee, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, it was officially renamed the National Youth Sports Federation.
The National Youth Sports Federation currently has nearly 1000 member units, including various levels of youth sports federations, associations, social organizations, various types of sports schools, traditional sports schools, sports club training institutions, and enterprises engaged in youth sports work. The association's secretariat includes functional departments such as the Competition Department, Training Department, Development Department, Comprehensive (Membership) Department, Finance Department, and Market Development Department, as well as branch organizations such as the Sports School Branch, Youth Sports Club Branch, Early Childhood Sports Branch, Youth Sports Camp Branch, Youth Science and Technology Sports Branch, Youth Ice and Snow Sports Branch, Education Development Committee, Standard Certification Committee, and Youth Tennis Professional Committee.
The National Youth Sports Federation has always taken serving 300 million Chinese children and adolescents as its mission, with "self-discipline, standardization, professionalism, service, sharing, and co-creation" as its overall development policy, aiming to build itself into a 5A-level social organization. Based on the development positioning of the association, focusing on industry needs, expanding and enhancing comprehensive service capabilities, enriching youth sports service supply, continuously enhancing influence, recognition, and authority, and contributing more to the development of youth sports in China and the construction of a sports power.
